Scandi Style Quick Hallway Revamp
Moving into her first home our client wanted a quick yet stylish revamp of the hallway. Preferring Scandinavian minimalist styles we chose off the shelf products she could easily buy online to achieve this look in a matter of hours.
The room - the hallway was already decorated in a soft grey with wooden flooring it just needed a style injection.
Lighting - with no natural light it was vital that we included ways to illuminate the space. Using the multi-bulb chandelier allowed light to bounce off more surfaces especially the rose-gold metal statement clock. The floor lamp was chosen for its adjustable spot lights allowing highlights for the wall art but also for practical tasks such as putting on shoes.
Storage - Our client isn't a fan of clutter and wanted a storage option which could hide away shoes and dog accessories. The stackable metal storage trunks were perfect for this, allowing the lower trunk to hold seasonal items such as wellies and brollies whilst the upper trunk houses daily use items like trainers, dog leads and bags.
Texture - long hallways often lack a homely feel as they are rooms we pass through rather than linger in. To avoid the hallway looking clinical we added a hardwearing patterned wool runner rug - this also softened sound to avoid echoing. Due to the lack of natural light faux plants were used to create depth and softness but without the upkeep of real plants. Finally two large art pieces were chosen with natural wooden frames to add warmth.
